Captain's Log: East Cowes, Chichester YC & ECA Xmas bash, November/December 2005

Saturday 19th November 2005 – East Cowes – RVYC Irish Evening

Malcolm and Mavis crewed us for the weekend and we were joined by Richard & Helen Stoneman on Kotka. We motor-sailed down the Emsworth Channel dodging dignhies and sailed from West Pole to Cowes. Arriving just befor eit got dark. Kotka left a while after us, and came in in the dark – we had to shine a torch for them to work out where the pontoon was!

Great  night out at the “do” – we got a bus-type taxi to RVYC and back, then drinks on Selene till late.

Next day it was very foggy, but lifted to a beautiful sunny morning as we left - we tried to sail but it was too light and so motored from Osbourne Bay.

On the way back, we saw High Tension being sailed by the new owner – probably be a while before we see her again

Sunday 4th December 2005 – Chichester YC for lunch

Andy Moran joined us for the day and it was another bright sunny but windless morning. We had a tight tide window, and motored to Chichester Marina. Fortunately they let us moor on the waiting pontoon as it was not very busy, so we were able to nip in and out for a super snack-lunch quite quickly. The Club was really nice.

On the way back, we managed a light airs sail up the channel, and Andy was impressed with Selene’s performance.

Saturday 10th December 2005 – ECA Xmas party

Drinks back on Selene!
